Sculpting Emotion Through Song: An Interview with Vocalist & Composer Taisa

Can you introduce yourself and share how you got into music?

I am Taisa, I am 18 years old, and I can say that I grew up surrounded by music—I breathed music, I felt music, and I lived music. Ever since I was little, my grandmother would always sing to me, and I remember how we eventually started singing duets together. That’s where it all began. That was the start of my journey in music. I started by humming, then imitating, and eventually moved on to composing, performing, and even publishing some of my own compositions. From that moment on, I realized that every experience in my life had come to mean music.

Could you tell us more about your award-winning submission? For instance, how did you prepare it, bring it to life, or any interesting stories behind it?

For me, image and visual quality are essential when creating a video for a competition. I put in a lot of effort to ensure everything turned out flawlessly, practicing and recording daily until I achieved the ideal version of my competition piece. Although it was a demanding process, I experienced it with passion and satisfaction, and this experience has motivated me even more. I can’t wait to participate in such competitions again!

What do you believe defines a great vocalist, and how do you incorporate your unique style into your music?

I believe that a great vocalist must be a sculptor of emotion. The voice should not only reach the ears but also touch the heart, resonating in harmony with the listener’s feelings. It is not perfection that defines an artist, but authenticity—the crack in the voice that hides a story, the trembling note that carries a dream.

I weave my unique style into music freely, honestly, and fearlessly. I do not seek to imitate but to express. Every inflection of my voice carries the light of my emotions, every lyric becomes a fragment of my soul. I sing for those who feel, for those who love, for those who seek answers within the chords.

What do you believe defines a great vocalist, and how do you incorporate your unique style into your music?

There was a moment when I truly understood the power of composition. I was working on a piece—at the time, it felt scattered, like all the right elements were there but not fitting together. Frustrated, I stepped back and looked at it differently. Instead of focusing on each part separately, I thought about the flow, the balance, and how everything connected.

That experience taught me that composition isn’t just about placing things in the right order—it’s about creating a rhythm, a movement that feels natural and inevitable. Whether in writing, music, or design, composition is what makes something feel complete. Since then, I’ve approached every project with that mindset, knowing that sometimes, all it takes is a fresh perspective to bring everything together.

Would you like to share your experience participating in our competition and anyone you'd like to thank (such as mentors, supporters or other team members)?

Participating in the World Exceptional Musicians Competition was an opportunity to receive feedback from specialists in the field, and I would like to thank, first and foremost, the judges for their appreciation. I also want to express my gratitude to my mentor who is my vocal coach, organizers, and everyone who contributed and offered their support to this remarkable project.

The preparation for the competition was quite intense—I spent several hours daily practicing and then recording the video with perfected details.

This award has given me more than just a prize; it has provided me with an experience that motivates me to work harder and believe in myself when I truly want something.
